Bangalore

Somewhere to go, that will actually work with little ones.

Planning a day out can take more effort than the outing. Will there be shade? A place to feed? Something for a three-year-old that isn't a screen? I wrote this guide for parents of children from newborn to about ten, and I've left it whole, so you can wander through it the way I put it together.

A note from me to you
Hello, lovely parents!
This guide started with a small wish of mine: more mornings in
the park, and fewer evenings with our faces lit up by screens. I
know how tempting the tablet is after a long day (I've been there
more times than I can count), but every time we step outside, my
little one comes home happier, muddier and full of questions.
Bangalore is generous to children. We have shady lawns, lakes
full of birds, small museums, story corners and big-hearted play
spaces. You don't need a grand plan. Pick one place from these
pages, pack water and a snack, and just go.
Let them climb, run, get a little dirty and wonder out loud. Those
are the days they will remember.
See you outdoors,
@alphabetamumma

Checked on 22–23 October 2026
Every rating, review count, price and link in this guide was checked against a real
source on 22–23 October 2026: Google Maps listings, official websites and
booking pages, and named news or review sites. Where we could not confirm a
price, the card says "Price not confirmed, check before visiting" rather than
guessing.
Timings, prices and rules change often, especially around holidays and the
monsoon. Please check the official website or call before you go. Ratings and
review counts are a snapshot from that date. Review summaries reflect the
reviews we checked, not every review.
Public parks: we found no official source confirming that entry is free, so park
cards say "Price not confirmed" rather than FREE. FREE is shown only where an
official or named source says so.
Drive times for farms and weekend getaways are free-flow road estimates from
Vidhana Soudha (OpenStreetMap routing), so allow extra time for traffic.

How to use this guide
The city is split into five zones: Central, North, East, South and West, each
with neighbourhoods. Find your area in the index, tap a name, and you'll
jump straight to its card. After the zones come Animal Farms & Petting
Zoos near the city and Weekend Getaways; at the back you'll find a rainy-
day list, seasonal events and emergency numbers.
FREE means no entry fee   Price not confirmed, check before visiting means
we couldn't verify it
